FM Type ,Blanket Area
1> 어떤 사람이 FM Type 이다... 란 표현에 대해...
A field manual is a guide book for training soldiers
but I've never heard that referred to simply as FM.
I don't think most North American users of
English would understand this abbreviation.
Instead of 'FM', 'By the Book' is a good expression
that means nearly the same thing.
As in "He does everything by the book."
"We don't want any problems, so please do this by the book."
2> 난청지역, Blanket Area 란 표현에 대해...
Actually, in general usage,
we don't have the expression blanket area, with that meaning.
In fact, blanket usually has the opposite meaning
as in the sentence.
The ground was blanketed with snow.
This means that the ground was fully covered by snow.
However, as a technical term used by
those in the radio or TV industry, this term does exist.
Having said that, I don't think the average native speaker
would understand this term used in this way.
I would just say "A place where TV or radio reception is difficult."
